Local Knowledge Resource

Your Local Knowledge Partners

Florida Business Interiors, in partnership with Haworth, is committed to sharing the latest industry knowledge.

In addition to hosting quarterly Haworth CEU presentations on topics such as Change Management, Culture, Focus Work, Workstyles, and Collaboration, we also share knowledge through panel discussions and noted author workshops in our Ybor showroom.  We strive to help our clients gain the knowledge on the best solutions available for their organization.

One way to gain that knowledge is to engage with our local Haworth representative and knowledge leader, Michael Furnari, LEED AP + WELL AP. Michael has spent countless hours studying current workplace topics and is certified to teach over a dozen of Haworth's continuing education courses related to our industry.

Michael is local resource, based in Tampa, who is available to our partners for idea sharing and brain storming using Haworth's tools to address workplace solutions.

Haworth Knowledge Topics

Culture is how an organization expresses itself. One workspace provides a foundation for culture, but an organizational culture that motivates employees can yield high returns. Beyond engaging employees for the sake of revenue, a healthy culture fosters collaboration and innovation.

Why does culture matter for your business?

Research says 70% of all employees are disengaged from their work.  Recognizing space as a way to re-engage your workforce begins by first defining your organizational culture.

Define existing organizational culture and compare that to the desired culture, then design workspaces expressly supporting the elements needed for change—linking the organization's culture to the workspace.

Haworth uses The Competing Values Framework™, a model developed from the major indicators of effective organizations, to help you understand and identify your existing culture to harness the differences for success.

How to Create a Successful Organizational Culture

"Change Your Space, Change Your Culture" E-book

Good workplace design fosters well-being— which leads to success for organizations.

Supporting Employees

Traditionally, office design focused on productivity. However this conversation is expanding to include a more holistic, person-centered point of view. Today the workspace itself can be used to promote well-being, an enduring state that encompasses wellness of mind and body, and can also lead to productive, engaged, and healthy employees.

Keeping employees engaged and healthy

The top three global health issues for workers in a professional setting are:
     • Workplace stress
     • Lack of physical activity
     • Obesity

These health risks not only affect the person, but also the organization, through absenteeism and employee healthcare costs.

Enhance performance and reduce risks

A focus on well-being represents a shift from a "space-centric" to a "people-centric" approach in office design. Putting people in the center of the design process results in outcomes related to quality of life.
In order to gain insights on how interior design of space can be leveraged, Haworth has an ongoing, long-term global research program involving hundreds of people. Based on preliminary results, they have developed design tips for well-being.
